Rebecca Shrand is a composer, tubist, conductor, singer-songwriter, and educator from the South Shore of Massachusetts. Her first composition was a song she wrote about pineapple at age 3: the premier performance of the piece was sung by herself in the car seat. Her instrumental skills began with piano at age 7, and clarinet at age 9. At age 12, she began playing the tuba and has been playing ever since in a wide variety of styles including: Classical, Bluegrass, Rock, Indie, Avant-Garde, Contemporary, Dixieland, and more. She also studied voice from 2012-2018, and recently began playing electric bass.
